What Is Chiropractic?Chiropractic was founded in 1895. It is
based on the scientific fact that the nervous system controls the function of every cell,
tissue, organ and system of the body. The brain and the spinal cord are protected by
bones, the skull and vertebra. When the vertebra lose their normal position or move
improperly, they can irritate the nervous system. The irritation can effect the nerves
which supply the tissues and organs causing a lack of function. This lack of function is
called the Vertebral Subluxation Complex.

Chiropractic and Children: Shown to be Safe
A recent article recently published in the January 1, 2007 issue of the
journal Pediatrics (a journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics) addressed the
issue of pediatric safety as they pertain to spinal manipulative therapy. The
study by Vohra et. al. entitled, "Adverse Event Associated with Pediatric
Spinal Manipulation" has incited questions and undue concern from the general

Long-Term NSAIDs May Not Be Useful for Osteoarthritis
Study recommends only limited, short-term use of NSAIDs for osteoarthritis of the knee, finding that
non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) reduce short term pain in osteoarthritis of the knee slightly better than placebo, but there is no evidence of long term benefit. (read more...)
